Axemark pine  / kirveenjälkiä pättikän männyssä


Deer hunters


This 205 years old pine was found from a small close to Pättikkä, a village located about 70 km south-east from Kilpisjärvi. The tree was probably cut by deer hunters in 634 BC. There are no living pines on this area nowadays.

This log was felled by deer hunters in the Pättikkä area 634 BC. The axe marks are clearly visible at the base of the trunk.
